Dr Síle Walsh brings together psychology, doctoral research, and systemic practices to help leaders move past superficial answers and navigate complexity more effectively.

Her keynotes look beneath the surface of workplace dynamics, helping audiences navigate competing needs, address power and tension, and make choices that drive sustainable performance and genuine inclusion.

“Organisations, teams and communities thrive when hidden tensions surface, competing needs are understood, and choices are made with insight.” - Dr Sile Walsh

Talks, workshops, Q&A, and more…

Whether your event is in-person or virtual, Sile works across three formats that can stand alone or be combined: talks, workshops and facilitated conversations or Q&A. The work can begin with one of the conversations below, be adapted to your context, or start with a question your people are already wrestling with.

Talks

Inclusion Is a Performance Issue

Inclusive Leadership, Organisational Performance & Strategic Impact

Treating inclusion as a standalone initiative or compliance requirement dilutes its strategic value. Inclusion influences how decisions are made, whose knowledge is heard and used, how competing needs are navigated, and how workplace tensions are addressed. Grounded in Dr Walsh’s doctoral research, this talk explores inclusive leadership as something that happens across an organisation, not simply something senior leaders do or something DEI teams are responsible for.

Some of the questions we’ll explore

  • What changes when we understand inclusion as part of organisational performance rather than a standalone initiative?

  • What happens when legitimate stakeholder needs compete?

  • Whose knowledge influences decisions and whose may be overlooked?

  • How do power, context and organisational structures influence inclusion?

  • What can inclusive leadership look like in everyday organisational choices?

Particularly relevant for leadership conferences, senior leadership teams, HR and people events, organisational development events, and organisations exploring the relationship between inclusion and performance.

Working with Síle builds your confidence to lead through uncertainty, hold boundaries, and make conscious choices.

Leading Through Complexity & Workplace Friction

Leadership Under Pressure, Feedback & Systemic Conflict

When leaders encounter opposing views, organisational pressure or uncertainty, performance can depend on their ability to stay grounded, work with feedback and make sense of what is happening around them. Under pressure, our instinct can be to control more, defend our position, seek agreement or move too quickly towards a solution. Yet the presenting conflict may not be the whole problem. This talk looks beneath workplace friction to explore the psychological and systemic dynamics that can emerge when people disagree, needs compete and there isn’t an obvious right answer.

Some of the questions we’ll explore

  • How can people hold strong disagreement without polarising the organisation or damaging relationships?

  • What happens to our leadership when pressure increases?

  • When can increased control become micromanagement?

  • What might sit underneath repeated conflict or resistance?

  • How can feedback, reflection and emotional regulation support more conscious choices?

Particularly relevant for leaders navigating change, senior teams working through disagreement, organisations experiencing workplace tension, and events focused on leadership, relationships, conflict or complexity.

The Psychology of High-Performing Leadership Teams

Leadership Development, Psychological Safety & Decision-Making

At senior levels, technical capability is often assumed. How people relate, disagree, influence one another and make decisions together can become increasingly important. Under high pressure, hidden tensions and unsaid assumptions can interfere with strategic execution, decision-making and relationships. Drawing on organisational psychology and psychodynamic-systemic practice, Dr Síle Walsh explores what may be happening beneath the surface of leadership teams including power, psychological safety, competing needs, relationships and the dynamics people sometimes sense but struggle to name.

Some of the questions we’ll explore

  • What might be happening when a leadership team appears aligned but something still isn’t working?

  • How can psychological safety enable rigorous debate rather than comfortable consensus?

  • How do power and relationships influence what gets said, heard and acted on?

  • What happens when individual, team and organisational needs pull in different directions?

  • What can leaders notice about themselves, each other and the wider organisational system?

Particularly relevant for executive teams, boards, senior leadership events, leadership development programmes and organisations seeking to strengthen how leadership teams think and work together.

Workshops

Sometimes hearing an idea isn’t enough. We need an opportunity to work with it.

Workshops create space for people to explore the ideas in their own context rather than simply listening to a presentation.

Depending on the group and purpose, sessions can combine research, facilitated conversation, reflection, systemic exercises, live organisational questions and practical application.

Current areas include:

  • Inclusive leadership in practice

  • Working across difference and opposing views

  • Psychological safety as a group practice

  • Leadership, relationships and organisational dynamics

  • Power, competing needs and organisational decision-making

  • High-performing teams and group dynamics

Workshops can stand alone or follow a keynote, allowing people to move from hearing an idea to examining what it might mean in practice.

Facilitated Conversations & Q&A

Not every event needs another presentation. Sometimes what is needed is a better conversation.

Síle can join a moderator for a fireside conversation, respond to audience questions, facilitate dialogue between people holding different perspectives, or help a group think through a live question they are already wrestling with. These conversations work particularly well when a topic is complex, contested or still emerging and there may be more value in exploring the question than pretending there is one simple answer.

Formats can include:

  • Fireside conversations

  • Moderated Q&A

  • Panel participation

  • Facilitated audience conversations

  • Leadership and executive roundtables

  • Conversations across opposing or competing perspectives
